About

From many places but born in Birmingham, Alabama.

She believes that not all those who wander are lost, but a map surely doesn’t hurt:

She's been lost in New York City, mixed-up in Mobile, turned around in Chicago, and, one time, she lost her shoes to a flood down in New Orleans.

She pays the bills as a traveling card-dealer.

But, when she's not on the road dealing blackjack, she's on the road dealing songs.

She's a lean, mean, writing machine with a strangely familiar yet compellingly fresh sound that, though steeped in the folk-blues tradition, is wholly original.

Her songs range from the haunting and poetic to the silly and surreal.

Her music is rough, hard-edged, and down-to-earth.

Her voice is powerful, smoky, and soulful, seemingly pulled from a different time.

All in all, she's a captivating performer—both intense and whimsical—and endearingly goofy.
